My son and I just pulled the engine and tranny today on the the Trans Am. We had been leaking transmission fluid pretty bad (700R4) probably seals... and had been losing coolant probably head gasket.

Now that it is apart... we are wondering best way to put back together... with a little extra power. Thinking a new cam, new headers, Y pipe and cat back. Thinking new K&N air filter. Not sure if we should do any things with heads... Looking for suggestions as to what specific parts other guys would recommend. As far as the transmission goes, looking at new seals, perhaps rebuild and shift kit. Not trying to beak the bank here, but how feasable is a 305/350 swap part compatability.... still tring to research this as well. Any help appreciated... BTW heads are the 14014416

Also concerned about all the SMOG tubes etc... obviously most headers don't have these, we don't mind omitting them, just wondering about all the sensors etc. Thanks
