Difference between SD and MAF

Besides the 9th injector, what else makes the later intakes different than the earlier?

I'm looking for physical differences.

What I'm thinking of doing is swapping my SD Super Ram onto my '88.

SD (speed density) uses a MAP sensor and not a MAF sensor.

Let me be more specific.

In the manifilold, what specifically, physically is the difference between the two. Forget about the MAF, sensor. Forget about the MAP sensor. Forget about the harness. Forget about the ninth injector.

What I want to do is use an intake from an SD car on my MAF car. I would like to know the physical differences between the two manifolds. I want to swap only the manifolds. Maybe the fuel rails also, but my question is mainly about the manifolds.

89-92 lower intake is #10066014
85-86 lower intake is #14081004
87-88 lower intake is #10108516

That should help you identify them.

Thank you, but again, I'm looking to use a speed density Accel Super Ram on my MAF motor.

I have a speed density motor sitting in the corner of my garage. It has an Accel Super Ram on it. I want to use the speed density Super Ram intake on my '88 Formula with a completely built 383 (with a stock intake and ECU) MAF motor.

I'm wanting to use the Accel Super Ram on my '88 383, since the stock intake is a huge bottle neck.

I would like to take the Super Ram off the motor that I have in the corner, and put it on the motor that's currently in my car, replacing the stock TPI intake. My car is currently MAF, not speed density.

I can use anything off the speed density motor, (it's complete with harness, ECU, accessories, everything), so I don't need to worry about plugging the 9th injector hole on the rail if I go that route. And I can burn a chip that deletes the 9th injector.

I would really like to come up on a runner for the driver's side that has the hole for the 9th injector. Unless I could just drill a hole. If this is possible. If the base plate has the hole in it already.
Being this is what I want to do, adapt a SD Super Ram to a MAF car.

What I don't want to do is swap everything over. Meaning that I don't want to make my MAF car an SD setup. I don't want to use anything that I don't have to. I only want to use the intake manifold.

The reason that I'm asking, is the motor is hard to get to, and I would rather someone who knows to be able to tell me if it's possible, before I go through all the trouble of getting the motor out, taking it apart, and finding out that it won't work.

Ya know?

Go ahead and swap over the accel base/ superman. The bad has 55-86, 86 up center long elongated bolt holes.The air passage is more than just one hole for the ninth injector. Using a 89 tip maf tune will eliminate the need and problematic 9th injector.
