fuel pressure drop

89 tpi
new pump - walboro 255
new adjustable regulator - southbay-new diaphram
i also have bosch III injectors that are a few years old.

my issue is a rapid pressure loss after the pump stops. like 45psi to 0 in less than 10 secs.

i just replaced the pump thinking it was a pump issue. plus i was getting low flow to the rail and had to fix the filler neck.

had a very erractic gauge needle now its somewhat steady.

so my question is...do injectors clog and leak easily?? i had them out and in a ziploc bag for about 7 months while i rebuilt the engine and trans.

Re: fuel pressure drop

The injectors can leak down, but you'd probably have a smokey start. You need to test fire them out of the car hooked up to the rail over a bucket. They should stop immediately. However, the more likely culprit is the fuel regulator diaphragm. You can verify which end of the system is leaking down by pinching off the fuel supply hoses. As for the gauge. The oil filled ones are garbage. I drained mine. I would under read every time the car warmed up.
