Throttle body help

Hey guys, I'm looking at a 52mm polished BBK throttle body for my 89 GTA the one I see I can get it for a dea however it says it's for a 85-88. My buddy is a mechanic and says it will work but I have to use my throttle position sensor ect. He states they will bolt right on. Is this true?

Re: Throttle body help

Just a heads up..... I have a AS&M 58mm (out of my 89 Formula) for sale with the correct linkage for your car. Half the price for a new one. Is it the car in your sig pushing 500 hp?

See thread link....

Re: Throttle body help

I'm looking to put it on a 89 gta with mild mods cam Cai headers and Flowmasters. I think a 58mm might be too much for it

You need to look at the throttle cable hook up. That BBK throttle body has the straight pull throttle cable hook up. I have that throttle body (non-polished version) on my car. If your car has the wrap around style throttle cable hook up then that polished BBK will not work without you changing out the throttle cable.

Re: Throttle body help

That's what I've been reading. However the guy is including the throttle cable as well. My concern is that the airfoil holes match up. I know I'll have to port the premium as well. Thank you.
