replace TB fresh air hose with breather?

Could I remove the hose that goes from my pass. side valve cover to the throttle body, put a breather (prefer open element) on the valve cover for the "fresh air," and either plug or remove the little pipe (can't think of the word right now ) coming out of the throttle body. I was planning on making an airfoil with JB weld or epoxy. I wouldn't even have to leave a hole in the top.

Has anyone done this? Any reasons not to do it?

Oh, the only reason I want to do this is because I hate having all those hoses in my engine compartment. I'd love to eliminate as many as I can and I need to start somewhere

TB hose

Hey man, since you live in TX like me, I wouldn't recommend removing that hose, it's part of the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system and it removes, depressurizes and recycles the gases in your crankcase built up from the motor oil. This is one of the things inspectors look for, it's been on cars for over 40 years. There is a valve that plugs on the end into the valve cover that regulates the pressure etc., it should be replaced every 15,000 miles or so.

I guess it could slightly (the hose IS pretty small) help performance with cooler air & more O2 but it could screw your inerds up over the long haul, increase oil temp, decrease oil viscosity and oil servicability, all negative. IMHO, I would never do it.
