Big problems
So some of you may have known that I bought an 88 camaro 350 5.7L when I came home from my deployment. Well all was going great until recently when it started acting up bad. First I heard a loud clunking sound coming from the exhaust. A buddy and I cut the catalytic converter off and found out that all of the material in the inside had been completely destroyed. This was also causing my car to stall in drive. Well after we cut the cat it ran fine until the next morning. Today I went to start it and it just dies right away. A also get a misfire. Ive replaced the TPS, MAF sensor, and the idle air control valve, cleaned the throttle body and ran flex pipe to where we cut the cat. I'm on the verge of a mental brake down as I can't find out what is going on with this thing. I have no leads and everyone who looks at it has no idea either. I'm getting no check engine lights either. Anyone have any idea? The plugs and wires are new as well. Please help me. This car is all I have to show for my deployment and if I get rid of it I'm going to be really upset. Thanks.

Re: Big problems
start with the basics.
is it getting fuel?
is it getting spark?
etc.
i highly doubt cutting the cat would cause a no start condition.
hows the plugs look?
fresh gas?
clogged fuel filter?
just tossing out some dumb but over-looked ideas.

Re: Big problems
I'm thinking it could be the EGR valve? I've checked all of the listed above as well. It just had a recent tube up and I trust the work of my mechanic. I'm having another friend come over tomorrow who know more about the 350 then me so hopefully we can get it right
