I am building the original LB9 for my GTA. I am doing the following MODs and am looking for other cheap MODs during this rebuild.

- Dyno Dons headers and y-pipe with dual exhaust
-ZZ4 cam
-LS6 titaniun valves
-LS6 Yellow beehive springs
-Porting TPI Intake
-Porting 081 Heads

I have recently been doing searches regarding the standard 19lb injectors. I found the following thread below.

I have a set of practically new 22lb injectors thats on my L98 which just died on me. In view of the MODs Im doing wouldn't these injectors be a good fit along with a new PROM for my ECM?

Also any suggestions on further cheap or DIY MODs on this rebuild would be appreciated. Im not looking to race this car only improve from the puny 190hp that was standard on a 1987 GTA Convertible.

 

They should work. Make sure fuel pump is fresh and if you need it, get a adjustable regulator and set base pressure higher. But for those mods it should be fine

 

Thanks Orr for.chiming in. The fuel pump has about 2500 miles on it. It is a stock Bosch fuel pump. I will be installing a fuel pressure regulator as well.

Orr I want to ask you about another parts related thing. You notice above I have LS6 valves. Its been recommended I get comp 787 retainers to go with those and the yellow beehives. Now I need the locks. Inoticed the retainers are 7° so am I correct in assuming that the locks need to be 7° also. When I search for LS1/LS6 locks I easily find 10° locks but not 7° locks. Are the 7s more for street and the 10s more for racing. Is that the only difference or do I need to make sure that the retainers and lock match, ie 7° and 7° or 10° and 10° retainers/locks.
