how to test fuel injectors
how to test fuel injectors
i need a step by step run-through on how to test my fuel injectors to be sure i need to get a new set, ive already looked up new ones on south bay fuel injectors.

also if/when i order injectors should i also replace pressure regulator or stick with the old one?
and if i do order the new pressure regulator from south bay does it come pre-adjusted or will i have to adjust it myself?

Try this link.
If memory serves correctly, you should be reading about 14-17 ohms, less than that and they're going out or just bad.

Might look into a pulse tester kit. Not a lot of money and will test the flow through the individual injectors. Pulses them one at a time for 10 or so pulses and you look at the pressure drop on the fuel rail. Pretty handy little device.

Re: how to test fuel injectors
I bought one of these just to examine it, simply because it was so cheap:
It got it off an ebay seller for less than $20 shipped; IIRC, it was shipped from China.
I've never tried to use it because I didn't have a handy way of plugging it into a Bosch injector connector. It doesn't appear to be typical of Made in China stuff. But I didn't open it up and look inside of it either.
I have an OTC injector tester that I normally use instead ( )
When used with a fuel pressure gauge, these things are very handy tools to have.

definitely check the resistance as the stock injectors are notorious for coil failure. If they check out at 12ohms or less they need to be replaced. Or if you want....send them in and we'll put them up on the bench. If they check out fine we'll just send them back to you and all you will have to do is pay shipping. If they don't work we can get you a set of bosch lll's. It's up to you
