surging issue...

I have a 92 RS injected 305. It has a slight surge to it. Not at idle and not while just sitting in gear. It has a slight hesitation when you first press on the gas. Then while going down the road if you only lightly touch the accelerator it kinda surges. If you lay into it it's fine. Lacks power though. Like it's not getting the fuel. Other then that the motor runs great. Doesn't burn oil doesn't skip or stutter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

The MAF is probably bad.

Re: surging issue...

1992 models do not have MAF Sensors - they use Map Sensors. Is this TBI or TPI fuel injection? Any modifications to the engine? More info would be helpful. Perhaps you should check your fuel pressure. There is lots of help available from this site so good luck.

TBI...no mods. Was thinking that also. Going to change the fuel filter tomorrow. Don't want to put much into the motor itself. I plan on pulling it out this winter and putting in another motor I'm building.
