the timing has totally screwed the pooch. I was playin around with the timing cause my car was runnin like crap. i swapped the ECM & EPROM from my other GTA, changed the injectors, and had the FP changed 3 times (3rd time i dropped the tank & found about 1/2 an inch of sand in my tank). so now everything is pretty much out of specs but i got good pressure & flow. So now i just need to time the car. was also wondering if i should turn the idle air torx screw a bit more open just in case i have that messed up too.

Well Turn your motor with a wrench until your harmonic balancer line lines up with 0, then check your dist and make sure the rotor points to the #1 cyl. (front, driver side)

If it doesn't, pull it out, and spin it until it does and seat it back in. Then advance it a little with the light..

If you can't see your balancer, pull the #1 plug out, and crank the motor by hand until the #1 hole farts. (both valves closed). Don't turn it past the fart. That's "top dead center".

I'm guessing the distributor is in okay and you were just moving it around?

Start the engine, disconnect the EST bypass connector, and with the timing light hooked up to the #1 Cyl, shoot the light at the HB and rotate the distributor until you have the mark lined up to where you want..should be at about 6* BTDC.

Shut the engine off and tighten hold down bolt, then reconnect the EST bypass connector.

well, i have no clue where the EST by-pass connecter is. ive got a single wire weather pack connecter on my pass side but in my haynes it says it should be near the power brake booster. can u just disconnect the 4-wire plug going to the distributor? if need be i can take pics. Im gonna try the EST/4 wire route first then if i cant do that im gonna try for your way anesthes. if so should i pick up a TDC locator to make it easier?

The code 33 is a high voltage/low vaccuum at the MAF sensor. Check for a vaccuum leak around the sensor, or replace the MAF relays. Hopefully it is not the sensor. The 42 is from having the EST unplugged, that is normal.
