Fuel Line Questions.......

Hey all. This is the first time I have done any swaps and of course I picked a good one. I recently got a 5.0 TPI motor out of a S-10. I don't know what it came out of originally. The original owner had passed. I am swapping this motor into a 41 Buick. I am having some issues with deciding how to run my fuel lines. My first question is should I run some Nylon lines or the standard steel lines? I figured I was supposed to run steel lines, but I've been told to run Nylon as well. Help here would be great.

My bigger issue or concern is finding a 90 degree bent kit from the motor to the frame. Is there something aftermarket out there outside of piecing some stuff together? I made a couple lines, but they didn't turn out so great. I can make some more with the hopes of getting one right, but I was wondering if they just made a kit for one.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I just got the car home and am anxious to get it running. TIA!!

OK. I was looking a bit and found some 90 degree pieces I figured would work. Thanks for the info. Do you have an opinion on the fuel lines themselves? I'm thinking about nylon, but really don't know.

Re: Fuel Line Questions.......

I think most ptfe lined lines are for power steering, transmission, clutch applications.

Re: Fuel Line Questions.......

I'm not sure if Nylon was the right choice of words. I used to have 91 Chevy Caprice Wagon and it had a plastic fuel line set that ran from front to back. I was wondering if that was an option to use for fuel lines or if the steel lines arey only option. I really don't mind either way. Given my car modifications, there's no pre bent kit and I hate be doing lines. Plus I'm a little OCD about it. Lol.

Re: Fuel Line Questions.......

You might want to call summit racing to inquire on the pressure specifications for 3/8 and 5/16 line. You might have to go with gm quick disconnect to an fittings to make the adaption to Saginaw o-ring fittings.

So sorry for the extremely late response. I got caught up in another project and now I'm trying to get focused back on this one. Thanks again for the info. I was thinking I would have to adapt some fittings in order to make it work. I was looking at the Russell Performance adapters (AN), but was unsure of how to make them work with the nylon. I haven't made it that far yet. I imagine there is an AN fitting that will go onto the nylon, I just haven't located it yet. Thanks again for all your help. I am pretty behind on the conversion thing, but love learning all the new things.

Re: Fuel Line Questions.......

I found some adapters for the Nylon tubing to steel that should make it an easy swap. I should have took a few seconds and looked before responding. Lol.
