Re: fuel injector leak

It's very possible if they're original injectors that the O-Rings are worn out. Are they aftermarket? Do you swap em recently? Maybe the fuel rails aren't quite tightened down all the way?

hey

pretty sure they are original, i have not put aftermarket ones the last guy put the motor in so i wouldnt know ...but they look stock.

im going to do a fuel pressure test soon. heres a picture to show where its leaking from theres two injectors. it was hard to take a picture of where its leaking from it looks like the whole thing is just wet.

can these leaky injectors cause gas to get into the block ,
the motor oil smells like gas and its making me worried... why would gas be in the block ?

Re: fuel injector leak

one of the o rings has failed.

no matter which side of the injector its coming from, you're gonna have to remove the fuel rail+injectors to fix the issue with either new o rings or new injectors from southbay(highly recommend).

ughh.. more money i have to spend.
im trying to sell the vehicle anyways so ill go with ...Orings and fuel injector cleaner.

what are your thoughts on injector cleaner?
also i NEED this question answered, could leaky O-rings cause fuel to get into the block?

theres gas smell in the motor oil im scared to even run the motor i dont want the gasoline to wash the oil off the block walls
...my theory is the injector's "spray" is not getting burned cause its not a proper mist and its just squirting it on the pistons thus dripping its way into the block.

Re: fuel injector leak

Leaky orings will not cause fuel to get into the block. It sounds like you might have one or more injectors leaking and flooding the engine in order to get fuel in the crank case.

i have to buy from auto parts stores alot since i cant ever find stuff online. especially for my older chevy. The only places i know is JEGGS and Summit but they seemed over priced. idk... i guess ill just buy new injectors.

ok, so they could be leaking while the motor is not running? im trying to get an idea of whats going on here. Is there some tests i can run to pinpoint the gas leak into my engine?

im definitely going to drain the oil before driving.
do you have any tips on how to clean on the gas from the block? should i just drain it out a few times before driving it?

Re: fuel injector leak

fix the issue, Change the oil, Drive it around for a couple hundred miles and then change it again until you're feeling confident.
