Car: 1985 Trans Am
Engine: 305 TPI
Transmission: 4 speed auto
Axle/Gears: 9 bolt posi
High idle and late ignition timing on 85 ta 305 tpi auto.
Replaced cam and timing chain(stock melling replacement),rebuilt heads,new gaskets and sensors and I cannot for the life of me,get the damn iac(which is new also) to reset,if I do,after set-up and restarting,goes back to high idle(1100-1500 rpms).AC is out for now,removed A.I.R. system in favor of stainless steel shorty headers and stainless corvette dual chamber sidepipes.What to do?

Have you checked for vacuum leaks ?
