Re: What are symptoms of bad fuel injectors?

The symptoms vary depending on how many, how bad, and what failed. They can have poor flow, no flow, or not close properly (too much flow/leaking), they can fail only when hot.... everything from a no start condition, to rough idling, no power, or black smoke out the tailpipe.

If they are suspect (and original TPI injectors are highly suspect at this point) then get a new set of Bosch III's from SouthBay (forum sponsor). It's not a difficult or very expensive proposition.

Re: What are symptoms of bad fuel injectors?

I had one measure 5.5 Ohms resistance with another at 8.5 Ohms and it wouldn't allow the engine to rev up enough to move the car. It would start and idle but giving it throttle decreased the RPM's till it stalled. After getting it home on a rollback I learned if I would have unplugged the 5.5 Ohm injector I could have limped it back, it ran terrible but at least it moved down the road. I kinda thought it was strange when it happened as I was test driving it after repairing the tranny, put the pedal down and at about 75 mph all went quite. I'm sure there are plenty of other symptoms.

With my stock injectors it started running rough at steady road speeds and progressed to rough at slight acceleration. These were the original "Multec" injectors.
