What kind of EFI should I use?

I've got a 67 Camaro with a 327, vortec heads, comp cams HE268, and an Edelbrock performer intake and 600CFM carb. I'm getting tired of tweeking the carb for every weather change. I do kill a lot of mosquitos with the exhaust fumes though

Should I go all aftermarket$$$, TBI? TPI?, LT1 or should I look for wrecked third gen so I can get the TPI,ECM,700R4, and serpentine belt system off of it?

Are there any good reference site for this kind of swap?

Thanks,
Dave

torch,
not knowing what you do with the car, race it, drive, play toy...
the 327 and cam suggests mild to hot street. factory fuel injection
probably wont satisfy your wants. although the LT1 reworked
manifold, TPI fuel computer and harness might hold you ok...
the edelbrock performer dual plane MPFI or the pro-flo single
plane would be a nice one to grow into.
a quick and simple would be the aftermarket units. designed for
what you are looking for. but tuning and access to parts could be
a lil hard to take.
a more elaborate but accessible would be the LT1 manifold conversion
a TPI harness and computer set for speed density.
but again depends on how funtional you want or your budget.
figure $2200 for the LT1 setup.
the edlebrock have different stages ranging $900-1600 and maybe more.
the GM TPI system is a lil underkill for your engine type. the manifold
is designed for torque more so than horsepower. many have tried
some like it more dont. the LT1 would offer more HP and mid-range torque
over the TPI torque less HP.
sorry for the book, but there is more to just slapping something on
an engine. this is my professional/personal opinion.

Thanks for the help,

As I'm getting older (w/kids) I'm thinking of making it more streetable. Going in parades, and shows, My wife won't let me race anymore It may be a little hard to give up some of the power, but the more family fun may be worth it. Are there any places on the web that have dyno charts showing what modern EFI conversions can do?

Thanks,
Dave

Hey torch, I'd love to see your 67 some time.

I had a few chances to buy 67-69 camaros/firebirds in the past and didn't. I wish I did..

Also, if you wanna take a look at my TPI setup sometime that would be fine. I can give you my results. I went witht he edelbrock base, SLP runners, 52MM throttle body. I know a lot of folks are doing the LT1 thing right now. I'm not sure what the direct benefit of that is just yet, if its better or worse cuz I havn't tried it.

Factory fuel injection ECM and harness kinda lamed me out. I'm thinking of ripping it out and putting in a programmable unit. Burning proms is OK, but I'd rather be able to do it in the staging lanes in between runs.
