Is this engine worth 5000 $

I might buy it, i might not, what do you think ? it goes with my D1SC, and intercooler ? It dynoed at 400HP

355 .030 over 9.1 compression
AFR 195 heads
Comp Camps roller grind for blower specs:
276 intake
290 exhaust
220 at .050
230 at .050
510 intake with 1.5 rocker
510 exhaust with 1.5 rocker
114 lobe
Crane aluminum rockers 1.6 ratio
TRW blower pistons
Total seal rings
Eagle Sir Rods 5.7
GM 1053 steel crank
Moroso 6 qt pan
High volume pump and pickup.
Fluidamper and tci flywheel both sfi approved
Comes with valve covers
Ill even throw in a Edelbrock aluminum water pump for TPI serpintine.I also have a Miniram intake fuel rails Holly58MMTB and 50lb injectors.

Add up al of the prices... for example, the AFR heads are $1600 right there... then you have the freshly machined block, etc etc etc. Look up the prices in jegs, and see how it adds up.

5000 seems a little high, very high. But never know, depends on who did the work, and what parts are inside it.

$5000 does sound a little high for the parts alone. but if the engine is already assembled and you know it was assembled right I say go for it. good luck and post some drag results if you put it in your car. :-)

For that kind of price you could build a low compression 383 with a completely forged bottom end. If you have the ability to build an engine I would probably build my own if I were in your situation and had the ability to build one. But if you don't have the ability to build one I would buy it if it had never been run.
