1989 Firebird 350 no start

A friend has been working on my bird since I dont have time. It all started as hard starting and then the FPR needed replacing and that leaked into the brake booster needing it to be replaced. Anyway, he got new gaskets to do the lower and upper intakes. A new oil pressure switch as the old one was shot as well. The car wont start. NOW...I drove it over there and after a few hours I took one of his cars to drive as he pulled mine in the shop. After reassembling the plenum, the throttle cable brushed ever so lightly on the back of the alternator and sparked. Ever since then, it will not start. It will run very briefly for 3 or 4 seconds after starting fluid is sprayed in the throttle body and then shut off.
The injectors ohm at 15.7 or better so they are good. We are thinking the spark knocked out the ECM and its not pulsing the injectors. Ans oddly, the fuel pump will still run for 4 seconds or so AFTER the engine has stopped. It had a reman ECM in it and maybe it went bad. VATS has been disabled so that has been ruled out. Any ideas?

Have you checked the injector fuses ?
The lack of injector pulse could be the ecm or a bad icm.

All the fuses checked out. Did a continuity test to make sure they were not blown. I was thinking a bad ICM at first, but it does run for a few seconds. I would think it wouldnt fire at all with a bad ICM. Thats why we were leaning to a bad ECM.

If your sure it’s the ecm you need a service number 1227165,16198259 or 88999194 & cardone 77-7165 . Any of these ecm will work . The numbers superseded are remanufactured numbers for the 1227165 ecm.
