can i use a bosch 044 with 1985 tuned port injection set up?
a little background on my setup. I have a 1985 tuned port injection set up off of a Corvette. it is a custom install on a crate engine in a 1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40. I used a painless harness and am running 21lb. accell injectors at 48 psi and a BBK regulator mounted to the factory housing. with a custom chip that removes most emission stuff and eliminates the cold start injector. I use a standard Corvette fuel filter too. and yes i am using a VSS from jags that run and use an O2 sensor on my setup. i will run a mechanical pump to supply fuel to the surge tank with return lines.
now to my question can I use a bosch 044 fuel pump in a surge tank with this setup?
from what I have read the bosch 044 can put out around 80 gph and the factory style regulator can only handle about 48 gph is this a problem? if it is is there a way to fix it?
I have searched and I see some people are using the 044. did they have to mod there setup? or is what I read wrong and I will be fine?
also is there any chance it could damage the fuel filter?

maybe i should clarify my question?
will my fuel rail fpr and return line handle the amount of fuel the 044 is capable of supplying?
I am using a banjo fitting on the pump with the factory check valve that comes on the pump.

because of Bosch's rep and I can get it from a buddy for 100 bucks new in the box and it has the code to check if it's legit and it is, he got it from summit and never used it. as long as it will work for my set up I can't see passing it up.
also my tank will not allow an in tank pump and there is no way to mount it lower than the tank. i will be using a surge tank that takes an 044 specifically. FJ40 tanks have a belly in them and are in the cab under the passenger seat and they are the lowest point of the underside of the cab so no way to mount pump lower and have it protected from harm. plus fuel slosh is an issue because i use it for some serious wheeling.
