Fuel injector question

Guys- I'm looking to replace the injectors in my '87 L98. What are your thoughts on the best option for a direct replacement? The car is stock. I've searched the forum and it looks like many are using Bosch IIIs, but from what I'm reading tuning would be necessary and I'd prefer not to get into that (don't have the equipment, never done it before). Thanks,

I used the IIIs and no tuning was needed.

You have the best Bosch injectors, just have them cleaned.

Re: Fuel injector question

Can i ask here, please?

I have injectors from 87 vette and ECM from 91 camaro. Can be there any problems with ignitions? I have 5.0 injectors, but i think better use 87 vette, than 5.0 camaro.
What do you think?

Re: Fuel injector question

If you have a 350 use the vette injectors. Unless thevinjectors have a grey body they are more than likely multecs. Multecs could short out with age.

Re: Fuel injector question

Those are a Bosch injector good quality. You might want to get them serviced before using them. Flow tested and new filter baskets and ohm the coils to make sure they are in good condition.

Re: Fuel injector question

An update: Ordered the IIIs from Southbay and installed them this week. Car is running beautifully (no hesitation/stumble - my initial problem). BLMs slightly lean under load, but not more than 142. Success!

Re: Fuel injector question

A+ for southbay, now adjust your injector offsets
The last offsets I changed from the Bosch 3 sticky thread went to 118 blm.
Alittle rich. But runs great.

Re: Fuel injector question

The older injectors are Bosch. They are better quality than multecs.
They made both 19#hr for 305s and 22#hr for 350s .
Make sure you use the size needed for your engine.
They can be identified by the part number on the housing of the injector.

Thank you very much for your answer.

So i should not need to remove my 1987 vette injectors from L98 1991 Camaro ?
I can use 87 corvette injectors on L98 Camaro 91? It is great new!

BUT... maybe you can help me... Exhaust manifolds still become red, when 2500x on "Parking" in 3-4 minutes... NO any "Check engine". Only 32, but it is my EGR, that i removed

Re: Fuel injector question

I’m not sure if you have plugged injectors causing the extreme lean condition. This guy is experiencing the same thing.

Re: Fuel injector question

Order the 3s from southbay. Go and drive, watch fuel trims, and adjust offsets and burn a new chip if needed. For me it wasn't needed.

I didn’t even realize you guys offered a discount for members; I called and ordered a set (not the 3’s) from you guys this past week for my LB9. Got them in over the weekend but haven’t fired it up yet.
