Ram Air Duct kit

Hello everyone.

I have checked this site for kits and came across Hawk's RAM AIR DUCT kit which looks nice but how well does it fit? Anyone have any experience with the installation as far as the sealing quality? I am looking to make sure the ducts fit nice enough to reduce any leaks. I understand sheet-metal perfection doesn't exist but overall how is the kit?

Re: Ram Air Duct kit

Does anyone know if doing this mod causes overheating issues at least?

Re: Ram Air Duct kit

Thanks everyone. I am going to be doing this. Someone relayed a message to me that Dyno Don has a set for sale so I am hoping to get them. New they're $99 now, not sure about shipping.

Any input on this subject? Difference in throttle response around 50 mph? Fitment issues? How much material should I leave after cutting the baffles?

Re: Ram Air Duct kit

You will have to remove the plastic duct work that funnels air to the radiator. The scoops attach to the bottom on the factory airbox. The way the filters seal is not changed. It does block some air from the front to the radiator so you will lose some cooling. If you fan/fans are working you should be fine. If you already have cooling issues these will exaggerate them. You can hear the engine sucking air in from the front and I want to say it pulls harder in the higher RPMs but, I don't have any times or dyno runs to back it up.

Edit found some pics from when I did my install.
