TPI No Spark

Hello everyone,
I am having an issue with my 86 z28 TPI system. I was able to start and get it running before. Now it will not. I am not getting any spark to the plugs. I have looked for spark by removing a plug and grounding and while cranking, no spark. I have hooked the multi-meter up to the battery 'in" wire on the distributor and it has 12v and while cranking it does drop to around 10- 9.5 volts. The distributor is brand new, the cap, coil, etc. All new distributor system. I never had a problem getting it to fire, worked perfect before, then I changed the alternator with a new one and now it won't start. Any ideas?

Ignition module? They're known to go bad. ...are the injectors firing? If the module isn't sending the ECM a signal, you wouldn't see fuel either.

I put the noid light on and it does pulse. I am getting fuel, I put a new fuel pump in and I can hear it and the lines defiantly have pressure. Just no spark. I will take the distributor out tonight and check it. Its brand new, so we will see.

well I guess ya trace it back from the plugs. Is the coil firing? ....I've also seen the black and grey coil connectors go bad. Not sure how yours is wired on an 86...might be different.

86 is coil in cap hei, if you have injector pulse and no spark sounds like you have a bad icm, or coil.
