TPI throttle body cover function
I know it wouldn't be designed and on there, but I've scoured the internet as well as the forums here and all I find is cool pretty replacements, but nothing in depth about the function of the chamber beneath the cover. I'm also wondering if a bad gasket/leak would affect idle or performance in any way.
Any gurus out there that has this information that could share? Many thanks in advance, any input is appreciated!

You can see how the large vent line for the pcv connects to the air inlet on the upper side of the front of the throttle body.
