I will be running a

406 with a cam around 226/236 dur. mid .5xx's for lift 112 LSA
Edelbrock RPM heads
10.0-10.5 compression.

and every now and then a 150 shot of nitrous

What do you think I should run for injectors.

To give you an idea 24# injectors are good for 450hp naturally asperated with the right preasure. MTI has engines running at upwards of 525hp with tuning and high preasure with 24# stock lt1 injectors.

Great post..........I have often wondered the same thing. I run a 406 with similar specs on cam/compression and have 24 lb injectors. Have had soooooooooo many guys say I should be running 30's, etc. that it had me doubting, even tho the motor runs fantastic and moves my 5600 lb K5 quite well.

what kind of TPI are you running on that 406? I have a superram. I think I might go with 30 lbs. because of the NO2. I don't want to lean out then.

Believe it or not, stock TPI.............and it runs extremely well and pulls very strong. I also don't rev it over 4500 rpm so that is probably where I would 'feel' the loss of breathing. TPI is wonderful for a heavy truck...........especially with a well built motor. You with NO2 might need to go with 30's. I'm not the guy to ask that, just know that for my application the 24's seem fine.

Good luck, let me/us know what you end up with, its always good learning for me to read this stuff.

For the price difference, 30's aren't much more than 24's. I would get as big as you can, you're going to need to tune the chip anyways.

Unless you can get a set of LT1 injectors dirt cheap. BUt I am going to go with the 30lber's now because I don't want to lean out under the NO2. That would be very bad

Actually, I don't know about you, if you have a superram, I don't care how cheap injectors are or if they are given to you, You DO NOT want to take that superram off more than you have to. So for me it was plenty worth getting new 30's. Like you said if you got the 24's given to you and you have a miniram or stock tpi plenum then oh yes definatly!
