Asking all higher mileage 350 owners....

I'm picking up a 88 formula 350 Saturday for 1,500-1,700 dollars. It has 144,000 miles and the engine was rebuilt. I am just wondering how do they perform with that many miles? Are they slow or are they still pretty quick. The engine has no modifications. Thanks.

Bone stock with about 90K on my original motor I got a 14.1 at 99.8 mph. I never got better than a 14.1 but broke 100 mph twice but had a slower times on those runs. I think thats pretty good considering I had no traction to boot.

They perform fine. Engine should be good if rebuilt.
Transmission may cause problems if high mileage. Watch out for burnt/brown trans fluid...and slipping shifts. Rear end should be fine.

Thanks for your help guys. I cant wait too see the car. The guy says over the phone it runs great, and the body is solid. I've seen one pic of it and it doesn't look too bad. I'm storing it for the winter when I drive it back. I own a 96 Caddy STS and a 92 V6 Firebird already, but I always wanted an Fbody with a 350!! I cant wait too save $ too have someone fix it up.

to have somone fix it up- I say you do It your self. Its more fun, you learn more about your car so if anything breaks you can fix it your self and save money to put more parts in to it
