is it worth it to port/polish intake system?

hey yall, this winter i'm going to install a set of 1.5 full roller lifters, after that i think i'm done until i can afford to have my intake manifold ported, the runners siamesed and same with the plenum. my question is if it is worth it? will i see any real gains from this? or am i wasting my money and should just come to grips with that ill have a slow car forever?

current setup is 350 TPI w/ summit alum heads, accel base manifold, crane cam (2032 grind), hooker shorty headers, slp runners, 24lb injectors, slp loudmouth exhaust, and the almighty aerofoil. down the line i'd like to do long tube headers and MSD ignition components too, but for now theres no real need to.

thanks for any advice and guidance!

See the sticky thread at the top "Quest for a better flowing TPI" and see my mods and results.

You'll gain more with ported aftermarket parts, but even the stock parts will respond to porting.

x2
get some aftermarket runners

stock base has 30-40cfm to be gained but youll spend forever on it .
Aftermarket starts where a nicely ported one stops. Yes it will help

Absolutely, positively it does. I got great gains out of porting the plenum and the intake. You do need oversize runners. Below is a link to the thread on the work I did myself and the tools I used.

thanks guys, i have the SLP runners and an accel base which are both supposed to support more CFM. I purchased the accel base because i was told it was an earlier generation which has more meat to be bored out. Sorry i didnt read much into the sticky.
