Bosch or SVO injectos?

Hey everyone. I have a set of 24lb SVO injectors which used to be on the car. I took them off while trying to diagnose a fuel problem (wound up being pump/pulsator) and wound up replacing them with Bosch 24lb from Southbay. In my internet travels I've read that the SVO's are better than the Bosch. I'm going to be doing some work this spring and was thinking about replacing the Bosch with SVO's. Thoughts?

Current setup: 350 TPI, Crane 2032 cam, Summit brand aluminum heads, SLP runners, Accel Base manifold, Hooker Headers, and will be installing 1.5 roller rockers soon.

Thanks everyone.

Datalog and see how your fuel trims are. More than likely your a hair lean. Increasing fuel pressure with a adjustable fuel pressure regulator or tune .

Re: Bosch or SVO injectos?

You've got Ford injectors either way. The SVO injectors are aftermarket Mustang injectors. The yellow/orange Bosch IIIs everyone buys are 5.0 Explorer injectors. Ford rates their injectors differently. A 24lb/hr Ford injector doesn't flow 24lb/hr in a TPI system.

You can tune either to work, or go with a stock replacement for TPI if you want it to work like stock. Given the mods, probably need the tune anyway.

I believed you originally tuned my PROM for the SVO injectors. I have since added an AFPR and have adjusted it a bit, but have not been able to locate my ALDL cable since I moved into my new house. It does smell a bit rich, but reading the spark plugs, it doesn't appear far off from where it should be. I'll have to get a new ALDL cable and do this.

Yes, from what I remember reading, the Ford system runs at a significantly lower PSI than the TPI system, which increases the "real" number to about 26.6lb/hr. I was unaware that the Bosch injectors were also Ford injectors. I didn't see any markings on them that indicated that to me, but oddly enough there was a pentagon similar to a Daimler Chrysler symbol on them when I installed them. Wasn't sure if that meant they were originally intended for Chrysler systems or it was just a similar design. Do you know if the SVO injectors have the same loud "ticking" to them that the Bosch injectors do? This was also a primary idea for swapping them.

They are more quiet than the bosch lll's, however they do not make them anymore. You'll have to get a set of used ones. If they are listed as new be careful as they are more than likely from China.

Luckily these are used ones, so they're not China re manufactured ones.
