Stalling issue

Hey guys, have a problem with my 91 Camaro TPI 5.0. Car has a hard time starting. The only way it starts up is if I press the accelerator down while turning the key. Also car drops down to about 700 RPMs while slowing down, and sometimes dies out on me. Trying to figure out where to start.

What's the status of the injectors?

Re: Stalling issue

I believe they are the original injectors. Makes sense though, when I first start it up. It smokes a lot and smells like straight gasoline.

Re: Stalling issue

Honestly it could just be about anything. I’m starting to realize you need a lot of patience with a 3rd gen. Haha.

Trying to figure out where to start.
With a fuel pressure gauge; what it tells you will provide some direction in which to proceed.

Re: Stalling issue

Start with fuel pressure for sure, but I would at *least* pull the injectors and have them cleaned/tested. Those are most likely Rochester Multec injectors and they are known be problematic with age.
