Cold start and low rpm issues
So my build is 383 with mini ram, accel 1000 cfm tb, and accel gen 6 DFI. I think my map sensor is bad but wanted some input. Basically when cold starting it does crazy rpm hunting and even stalls out sometimes. It will idle between 400 and 1200 rpm until warm and then it will idle beautifully at 800 rpm. Seems to also run rich. also, when driving on highway, at 50 mph or higher, if the RPM's get too low like 2200 the whole shakes very violently like the engine wants jump out the engine bay. Very scary and because of that I haven't been using overdrive and have been keeping RPM's at or above 3000. Could MAP sensor also cause that?

Re: Cold start and low rpm issues
Sounds like tuning issues. Have you had it professionally dyno tuned?

Re: Cold start and low rpm issues
We can't solve your problem or suggest a troubleshooting path since you are unable to communicate with the fuel computer and you have an entirely custom setup.

The EBL Flash II is the system they make for 86 to 89 cars.
Depending on how much functionality you want and your budget there are other options like the LINK G4X that I'm running with a harness adapter.

Re: Cold start and low rpm issues
Yeah definitely sounds like the tune is not right. Hard to say without knowing more details. If the software can run on a modern computer then it can be used. If not then maybe try to find a used or refurbished old laptop with the right windows version that can run it and attempt to tune it from there. Im not familar with those systems and how they datalog and program, i assume it should have its own cable, serial or usb port
