Replacing Spring in Fuel Pressure regulator.
I have a replacement spring for my fuel pressure regulator form the Throttle Body Shop. No instructions provided. No website found for potential instructions.
Anyone done this swap. Trying not to destroy my new part white learning how to replace the spring.
Application is the stock 5.7 TPI rear mounted regulator on a late 3rd gen.
Thanks.

I did not know you could just replace the spring or if that is even possible, what usually fails on those is the rubber diaphragm which deteriorates with age. I would just replace the whole unit with one of these https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...251863&jsn=973
It's a pretty straightforward job just be sure you have a security bit set to remove the special torx bolts on the FPR cap and have some new gaskets for the plenum etc. if it hasn't been off recently.

Thanks for the reply.
I do have a new regulator.
There are aftermarket springs to adjust the fuel pressure.
Looks like a spring compressor tool is what you need.

You could also try an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if you want to adjust fuel pressure. I have the Holley one and it’s very easy to adjust, no tools needed like all the others just turn the dial on top of it.

I agree. If you are looking to change the fuel pressure, install an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with the adjusting screw on top. Yes, you could put in a different spring, but will that be the correct pressure for your needs? If it isn't, they you are taking the plenum and runners apart again to change the spring. Much easier to just turn a screw and dial it in to exactly what you need.
