help with SLP install

Well I finally intsalled my slp runners today and after I bolted it up the car will only idle around 1500+ rpms.....I lowered fuel pressure to 39 psi (just to see what happpned...nothing much), checked the tps, checked all the vacum hoses and what not and retorqued the bolts 3 times (to 19 ft lbs like the manual said)...Im wondering if this is a giant vacuum leak.....seems like it to me any suggestions as to solve it (thought about putting silicone around the runners and tb..but that would look seriously gay)

This just sounds like a vacuum leak. You can go around all the gaskets with cab cleaner to try and fiend a leak, have you tried this. Not to sound condescending, but did you check things like the vacuum line to the break booster? What about the “other end” of all the vacuum lines, did one of them maybe get pulled off with out you see it happen?

If you installed the new runner gaskets witht the small plastic tit that holds them to the runners, you may have created a vacuum leak there. Sometimes it doesn't seem likely, but I had it happen to me on my IROC and even a '92 Grand Prix. A lot of teh times they do not seat flush into the new gaskets and just stick out far enough to be a pain in the neck.

Yes everything is properly connected...

Your talking about the little plastic deallies that plug into the metal that hold the gasket in place? What did you use to hold them down instead...gasket sealer?

i know of about 8 bolts that will hold the gasket in place! i would take the runners off and really clean the surfaces good and maybe even get a new gasket???

Not my first choice of tit, but if you can't get the real deal or even a silicone fake, I suppose plastic is the only other thing.
