FPR Removal

Ok, I'm stumped...what tool is needed to remove the old FPR? A T10 torx fits the hole, but in the centre of the hole is this little stub. Is there supposed to be a special tool for this?

Yep, you need to get "tamper proof" torx bits. DAP carries them, but beware they are not very strong. I broke one on a hand tightened runner bolt. I think you can knock the stub down with a punch, but I have never tried that.

Knocking the little stubs down with a punch is what I was considering doing, but I'll take a look for the tool first. Thanks.

It's a T-10S bit if you are looking for one at a tool store. In a pinch, vise grips will remove them (ask me how I know this), then replace them with regular bolts/allen heads, etc.

Thanks Blazin, I actually considered that too ...the vise grips and then replace them with normal screws. But I ordered the bit from the parts store, it was only $5 so no biggie.

all i did was take the torx bit, hit it with a hammer and knock the center down.. worked perfectly... and cheap..
