Plenum hitting front fuel rail crossover line with TPIS aftermarket intake
I’m trying to finish up my tpis big mouth intake install with AS&M runners and had to raise the fuel rail with 2 washers a piece( about the thickness of fuel injector O ring) and noticed when I test fitted the plenum it hit on the FPR which I ground down a bit to clear it and then I noticed that the plenum was hitting on the fuel rail where it crosses between right in front...so it’s looking like I will have to grind a valley across the plenum where the line goes, is this a typical modification to allow for what I have?
I wish I didn’t have to raise the rail with the washers but with my Bosch 3s from South Bay, which had the adapters for a stock intake which I swapped out. It was the only way to make it work short of buying new injectors which I didn’t want to do considering mine were only a few years old.

Sounds like it will be. Shouldn't a huge issue

I ran out of time yesterday but before I called it a day I tried test fitting the plenum on without gaskets just to check fit and its closer, of the 4 bolts on each side I can get the bolts in the front and rear of the plenum on both sides but the 2 in the middle did not want to go.

This is why it's just easier to get a complete system like the FIRST intake. For $1200 you get parts that are designed to work together without modification. Throttle body, intake, fuel rails, etc. All in one tidy kit.

A little time with the grinder in the front and back and it fits.

Pretty much par for the course when putting multiple aftermarket parts from different manufacturers together. Never goes together as easily as OEM, but what’s the fun in that?

I think I hit the fun limit on this lol but I know so much more about the car now and doing it almost all my self makes it more rewarding.
