Identification

I'm 99% sure #2 is the egr valve, but what is #1? It does have a vacuum line on it that goes to plenum and the shiny dial does rotate(?). Thanks for any help!

That is a fuel pressure regulator. Since the top turns, and it does not appear to be a stock unit, it is likely adjustable.
