blocked water line
blocked water line
Hello
While cleaning the parts fitting new injectors to the TPI Iroc I found the water way by the IAC was completely blocked.
Just wondering if this could have given me some tuning problems around the idle. The IAC seemed difficult to setup and would not have warmed up.
what do you guys think.

No tuning problems but I would take a look at the rest of your cooling system and maybe flush your coolant and replace with fresh if it looks contaminated. Also a great time to do a deep clean on the throttle body, usually does wonders on these engines in improved idle etc.
In your warm climate down there I would do the throttle body coolant bypass. It’s very simple to do and typically just requires a different hose and a few rubber plugs to cover the coolant ports on the TB. Do a search on here and you will have a few ideas how to do it with even a few part numbers for the new hose.
The whole purpose of that coolant running through the TB is to keep the blades from icing up in very cold weather. Doing the bypass allows cooler air to enter the engine which is ideal and allows for much easier access to remove TB for future cleanings.
