1986 Trams Am TPI upgrade

I have 1986 Trans Am with a 305 TPI. I need to replace my original distributor and wondering if I can upgrade to the remote mount coil distributor (1987-1995 HEI) and get rid of the cap mounted coil and distributor I have now?

I know there is a way to do it. Back in the day, GM High Tech performance had to do it when they put a Stealth Ram on a 1986 Iroc. At the time Accel offered the harness to convert to the divorced coil HEI. Perhaps contact painless Wiring? Let us know if you find anything.
