walbro fuel pump strainer
walbro fuel pump strainer
Has anyone had issues with fuel pump strainers failing due to ethanol?
I have a walbro 5sa400 in the tank with a walbro 125-554 strainer. Since this conversion was new around 2008 about every 3-4 years the strainer will start falling apart and when it does it takes out the pump. Tank was new and custom cutout for submersible pump.
Looking for any suggestions on causes or a different type of strainer/pump.
I am running a stock 1991 TPI 5.7 in a 57 Nomad and have always used 91-93 octane fuel. Replacing the pump/strainer requires dropping the rear axle and dropping the tank. Very frustrating!!
