No Spark

1989 TPI, All stock. No spark. Changed the ignition module, cap & rotor. Still no spark. What else would cause no spark?
How do I test the coil ??

Re: No Spark

Resistance testing the primary and secondary windings would be a good beginning. If injectors are not pulsing that would indicate no signal from the pickup coil, and that would also keep the ESC from firing the ignition.

Re: No Spark

Also make sure you're getting 12V to the coil while cranking.

Re: No Spark

Have you checked your spark plugs and wires?

It's upstream of the wires & plugs. It's a no spark issue from the distributor or coil.

No gas in the oil, no gas out the exhaust. But 45PSI at the rail. So I'm assuming injectors are not pulsing, or I would smell fuel somewhere.
Are you telling me I'm pulling the distributor?

80,000 miles, but there are constantly rust particles under the cap & rotor area. For years I have no idea where these particles are coming from.

Re: No Spark

This problem was caused by a bad pickup coil. Rusted .. corroded along with the stator being worn out.
