Need advice on a TPI build

Hi, I need advice on a TPI build. Being this is my first post here let me introduce myself. My name is Marc and I'm a retired truck mechanic with a 1982 Corvette with the crossfire injection/700r4 . My Car is mostly stock with just headers, a Magnaflow cat and a 16146299 ECM with my own tune. With the 2.87 rear my best time with the car was14.9@90mph. Since then I have changed the rear to a 3.07. I'm looking for a TPI build that will give me a 14.00@100mph. So here's what I'm thinking. A TPI setup (already have with 22 lbs injectors), Flotek 180cc heads, Comp cam 8-408-8 206/212 duration .480/.487 lift 110 lobe separation, a rebuilt L31 short block, and dual cat's. I've ran all this through Desktop dyno 5 and it claims with headers and open exhaust 329HP@4500rpm with a average HP of 265 between 1500 to 5000rpm. Is 110 lobe separation to narrow for a speed density EFI? Are Flotek 180cc good or should I go with something else? Thanks, Marc

Stock L98 with a few bolt ons should get you 14.0 so certainly your setup should surpass that.

Re: Need advice on a TPI build

I'm just was concerned about the 110 lobe separation and being not computer compatible where the same cam with a 112 lobe separation is. However the 110 makes more power in the region that the TPI likes. I'm new to all this stuff, building a modded engine and ECM programming. When I wired in the 16146299 ECM from a 92 5.7 Tbi truck it ran very rich at idle. I'm guessing that the more aggressive crossfire cam was singling the ECM for more fuel. I burned my own chip and reduced the amount of fuel in that region. With that said I saw a few post down that FiTech is coming out with a complete plug and play system for the TPI. I didn't know that such a thing existed. I think I may just go that route. Thanks, Marc
