Fuel line replacement
Fuel line replacement
New here and I tried to search but couldn’t find a clear answer.
Picked up a non-running 305 IROC, knew it needed a fuel pump and it had terribly old fuel in it, went to replace the filter and the fuel line was rusted and broke right before the filter. I ordered a new line from the engine bay to filter and have the fuel line disconnected, trying to figure out the best way to remove the old line and place the new line in. Do I need to remove anything else to make it easier to remove and replace the fuel line?

Re: Fuel line replacement
I removed the transmission back cross over support so I did not have to snake the lines over top of it. I supported the transmission with a floor jack, put the lines up and then put the crossover support back in. Some of the engine bay stuff was in the way but did not have to remove anything else. Mine was rusted so I just used some cutters and cut the old one out in sections and then pulled the bolts for the mounting / securing clips
