Coming home from work today, top down, cruise control on doing about 60, cruise control disengaged, tach goes to zero, and I coast over to the shoulder. No check engine light noticed
Try to restart the car, and it will start for a split second or two, but shakes as if fuel starved and quits.
Appears to be spark because it will turn over momentarily, but i don't know how good the spark is.
$225 for a flatbed home, and i figured I'd try cranking it again in the morning, maybe disconnecting the outlet side of the fuel filter to see if the pump is working.
Were talking ECM, correct?
Under the passenger side dash?
I have all the records on the car....It appears the ECM was replaced in 2016,(mileage unknown,) and the fuel pump was replaced in 2010 @ 118,000 miles. The car has 126,000 on it now.

ICM, it's located on the bottom plate of the distributor.
This controls the spark advance. IIRC you could still have spark if this is not functioning properly. Usually when these go, if everything else is functioning properly, it will at least idle for a period of time.
To me your problem sounds more like fuel than spark. I would check the fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator also. Your pump is 13 yrs young and that is plenty of time for it to crap out.
Thanks Vinny.
I'm thinking fuel as well....
How is it best to check the fuel pressure and fuel pressure regulator?
I haven't had occasion to really do anything to this car since I bought it about 18 months ago.
Can I disconnect the fuel line on the outlet side of the filter?
