got this killer deal on a 87 formula. only issue is i only know carbs. not a clue on where to start on this motor. what i have in mind right now is spark plugs, oil change, maybe new injectors, see if fuel pump works
im just curious on what you guys would do, look into, change on a car thats been off the road 20 years.

Why would you be tuning up a car you intend to part out?

Why would you part out a really clean 82k mile 1987 Firebird Formula with a TPI engine?

 

to finish my other trans am and make money

 

I'd think a good running clean car is worth more than the parts.

The number of "really clean" 3rd gens is diminishing by the day; you'd do well to get it running and then put it up for sale to keep it on the road.

Based off of the one photo, that car would have been a shame to part out.... You should make some money on that and someone will get a nice Formula!

Exterior wise, it looks good. Interior could use a serious cleanup. Then figure out what should be replaced, like carpet, headliner, seat fabric, etc.

just with VLR by mothers cleaned up really well already. carpet needs no work i got it for 100$ just gonna get jt running and sell. or drift car would be cool

 

Interior just needs a good cleaning.
Probably needs fueltank, pump, sending unit, injs and maybe a regulator.
