i put the specs of an lt1 cam into dyno2000 w/an unmoded L98 and the torque curve was atrocious (426lbft/2000rpm-that's the peak). the hp was 27 more. i've found a few differerent specs on lt1 cams, i used 205/207 @ .050, .447/.459, 116.5LSA. who has this setup, what do you think of it? seems like w/this cam you'd just boil your tires at the line.

oops, i think i screwed up the first time, i reran the numbers and the results came out to be about the same for both cams. so now it doesnt seem like there's much of any difference, what improvements does an lt1 cam give, is it worth it to get one?
what mods, if any, need to be done to get the cam to fit?

The l98 cam and lt1 cam are very similar and it would be a major waste of money to put an lt1 cam in an l98 car. But for a 305 it is a decent upgrade. I believe the only thing that needs to be done to use an lt1 cam in a Gen-I block is to adjust the dowel pin must be adjusted.

An LT1 cam is almost the same as putting 1.6 rockers on an L98 cam. Why bother? Save the LT1 cam upgrade for those cars with peanut cams... You can go bigger in an L98.
