im flashing 42 and 54.
im thinking 42 is fuel pump relay and 54 is ignition?
there could also be a vacume leak somewhere too...

whats the best way to check for a leak, seeing how it could be anywhere?

Using propane enrichment is the easiest way to locate the vacuum leak. Use a little propane tank, slowly move it around the intake while the car is running. If the idle goes up at a particular spot, then you have found your leak. I think you can use carb cleaner also if you do not have any propane around. Just do not soak the intake, use it sparingly.
