Anyone tried this?? I thought someone did fast burn heads and a LT4 intake. Aren't the ports the same on Vortec and fast burns??? Any help VERY appreciated. I'm considering these with a LT4 hotcam. CAn't decide what to do. Thanks!!

Awww, come on, nothing is impossible, it would just cost a lot. First you wouldn't want to use the LT1 intake, too different. Start off with the LT4, basicly same thing as the lt1, different port style. Then you would have to match up the ports to the vortec style. This has been done with the fastburns (same ports as the vortecs) The fastburns though have the normal SBC bolt pattern, (as well as the vortec) so the intake could be modified to fit. The vortec iron heads have a pattern that you wouldn't be able to matvch unless you added about an inch of material to each side of the intake.

the reason it worked with the fastburn/LT4 combo is because they both have raised ports. LT1 intakes dont, while vortec heads do. the vortec intake bolt pattern only uses 4 bolts per side instead of 6, so im not sure if that will hold down an LT1 intake coolant and vacuum leak free

I helped my buddy put an LT1 intake on his stock '87 L98 block, stock L98 iron heads and yes it fit fine.

re

Thanks guys! I understand now.

*Yeah, but how does the L98 IRON heads flow with the LT1 intake. I know its not the best but I may run L98 irons, ZZ4 cam, and LT1 intake until I can afford AFR's to compliment this LT4 hot cam I have along with the LT1 intake. Whatcha think?? Thanks

Here's some pics of why the Vortec heads and LT1 intake wont work. I had already bought the heads and was gonna use them until I found this post.
