What is the cold start injector?

What is the cold start injector?

Read a few post talking about a cold start injector. What is that. My 87 350 tpi is hard starting in the morning could it be the cold start injector?

its a 9th injector on the dirver side that has a little line that runs back towards the distrib.
what it does is right before startup shoot fuel into the intake for a faster and easier start.

you should put in a new fuel filter and that might help

WHen I go to start I have to crank for a while then see smoke. It is flooded. I think it is a leaking injector. The longer it sits the worse it is. has to sit for a couple of hours to do this. Could this injector be doing it?

I learn something new every day on this board.

I changed that a few months ago and it was not stopped up...
