Damn! what could cause the pin in the cam to make a hole in my timing cover?

After i removed the timing cover, the cam was in place w/ the timing chain but as it was rotating the pin in the roller cam was what made the hole in the timing cover, How could it do that? Could it be that the Mr. Gasket chrome timing cover was too small? The thrust plates were locked on so how could it have reached the timing cover? boy im confused.

I had the same thing happen to me. Man, was I pissed. The Accel/LPE cams are supposed to be for '87-92 roller engines. You are supposed to need a drive pin kit from Accel to make them work in LT-1's. Apparently that's not the case.
