running at 225 degrees

My 1988 GTA 350 runs at 225 degrees and has dual fans. The problem is one fan works and is manually activated. What thermostat came stock and how low can I go for best performance and wear.

you run 225 in town or on the highway? also the stock thermo is 195, I'd put in a 180. and a jet fan switch. if you are running that hot down the highway I'm betting some plastic that pushs air inot the radiator is broken off, it was on mine when I first got the car.

I hooked up a manual toggle for my dual fans. Just be aware of your temp and flip the switch when needed.
