Help with 86 tpi T/A (LB9)

Just wondering if anyone could help me out by giving me some ideas for some mods on an 86 tpi 305. I have an extra 305 that i want to build and drop in. Need info in good heads to use, pistons, roller rockers, roller cam, roller lifters. Don't know anything about picking a cam. I need something for a good street and strip application.

Good for you! Building up a 305.

How fast are you shooting for?

I'd reccomend LT4 cam, Edlebrock E-Tec 170 heads and a SDPC
Vortec TPI intake.

86,

Go west, young man. At least to Tennessee. That's where you can contact Competittion Cams, and request a copy of their Catalog 106. It will have a lot of valuable information about cam selection, design, installation and degreeing, theory, etc., as well as a full range of standard selections for you engine.

You can also get them at 1-800-999-0853 or www.compcams.com

It's at least a good starting point.

go to www.fl-thirdgen.org and look on the front page and find the link to an article on a 325hp 305 buildup.

I don't know much about 305's, but you might try going to the Comp Cams webpage. They have a form you can fill out with engine specs. They send you cam recommendations.
