Here is a few pictures of the complete motor on the standfor my 1986 Iroc. It is a 355. It has AFR 195's, Comp cam, full 1.6 roller rockers, JE pistons,Carela rods(sp?),all balanced, 52 mm ported stock tb, siamesed plenum, and runners, Edelbrock base, Hooker long tubes, 24lb injectors, 10.4:1 compression, hope to get it in the car in around a month. All questions and comments welcome.

very nice, VERY NICE!!! TPI rules 100 f*ckin percent. man, i wish the motor in my vette looked that good. cant wait to hear what your car runs
Very nice...I'll probably have to rebuild mine (unless you want to trade
) before too long...Can you give a ballpark figure of what an engine like that costs to build (parts, machine work, labor, etc.)? Just curious as to how much I'll need to save. Thanks.

Question, are your runners and throttle body painted or powder coated?
If painted, what kind of paints did you use?
If powder coated, how'd you keep the powder from getting into things you didn't want it to come in contact with on the TB.

Thanks for all the compliments. The Intake is powder coated anodized blue and looks much better in person. The tb was taken total apart and was bored to 52mm so I powdercoated it before It was put back together. I am in Durham/Raleigh area. The motor is out of a 1989 truck, but is unfortionately not a 4 bolt main. It has the stock crank that has been balanced as have all the pistons and rods. The machine work was done at a place called Performance Specialties. Any more questions just ask

The cam is an extreme grind. Part number 08-503-8. I think. Lift is 502''/510'' and duration is 224/230 on a 112

It was done at Performance Specialties. Not sure on the exact price, but I would say assembly, full balancing, machine work and boring, bearings, rings, etc was probably around $1500. He also got the flywheel and a few odds and ends. The valve covers are tall style aluminum, that I got from a friend. You can get them at Pace parts also.

Damn....we really do have similar setups. I have the same cam but on a 110 LS. Keep us posted on when you get it running!

No. I have seen people running the stock valve covers with full rockers, but because of the design of the comp cam rockers you mus use taller valvecovers.

NufNuffZ28 where in north caroling is performance specialties. I live in davidson county. At the moment i'm doning a stock rebuild on a 305 to put in my dads truck so i can have his 350 4bolt so i can build a 383. I'm looking for someone to do some work and from the looks they do a good job. If possible do they have a website or number you can give me.

Well, The A/C is gone as is the smog. I am not sure of hp, but expecting tq with the TPI to be very high. WE are not gonna be able to dyno to full power because I do not have the stuuf yet to do my own chips and I know that you can not tune a motor with being there. (919)894-3671 is Performance Specialties number

id rather run a 2 bolt than a 4 bolt, the 4 bolts are known to crack at the second bolt (even though there stronger) who know...
nice setup.
i didnt see who your rocker arms where made by but rockers like that have cracked under high stress, i used the light weight comp cams rockers...
