Gonna puchase a TPI, have needed questions

I currently have a 86 2.8 bird. I saved up $2000 and the money im going to get after i sell my current car is for $1500 so together will have $3500. Now i was wondering what a good TPI engine is from TA/Formula VS IROC/Z28. And could you guys give me some isurance quotes cause im sure money is gonna be a big difference from the MPFI.
Also u think i could get a decent TPI with $3500?

Hey

There isnt much difference with the T/A TPI and the IROC Z TPI. There the exact same engine. The only thing that gave the camaro extra HP is the design of the air induction system. IROC Z set theres up as a dual filter system...kinda like a ramair. T/A set theres up with only one filter. It doesnt matter what TPI u get...Weather its from a transam or and IROC Z. If ur gonna go with a TPI... Set it up with the IROC Z air induction, u will get more HP...

If I was u I would get a 383 TPI or a 350 Crate engine. They have much more power then the 305/350TPI.

The insurance isnt goin to be much more with a bigger engine I dont think, Maybe $50 bucks more or somthing, i dunno.

For $3500 you could probably buy a decent third gen with a 350 already in it, and save yourself a lot of swap related headaches.

Just my opinion.
